Avatar. who am I on the net?

  • Fred Johnson brought up an interesting point during my interview with him. He mentioned that the way you portray who you are on the internet can affect you in real life. He says that he often surfs on the personal blogs of his students (via www.facebook.com) as a way to figure out who his students really are. Sometimes the image he gets is a negative one. (i.e. "I'm a drunken slut")

This little collage I made is a collection of who I am, who ENGeek is on the internet. The badgers are from a multiplayer game (played over the internet) called freelancer, the angry black and white guy is my old yahoo messenger avatar, the wizards are from videogame forums, the punctuation thing (I invented that. It is called the "semi-interro-bango-pause.") Is my current AOL instant messenger icon (ENGeek), the orc in the background is my character in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and the nanowrimo (National Novel Writing Month) icon represents my online writing contest obsession. I think that pretty much says who I am. I am a nerd, an ENGeek if you will.
